consider him baffled. when she spoke of back home, and the antics of those who owned boards, yet did not use them, he tilted his head to the side and fixed a puzzled expression upon his face. lightly scratching his temple, in addition, he shook his head thrice and huffed.
❝well, people who don’t use their boards are wastin’ ‘em. what’s the point? makes no sense to me.❞
then, he spared her a glance (inwardly shocked at the lack of heat rising to his cheeks as he looked her over) and blinked a few times.
❝how about you? uh, have you ever ridden before? a - uh - a skateboard, i mean.❞
ah, there it is. cue yata blushing and stammering like a fool.
“I think they carry them around to look cool, that’s all,”
trying to impress people, to fit the look they wore, who really knew why those
trainers did that if there was an entire class of people who skated or boarded.
“Honestly, I really couldn’t tell you, I think it just boils down to…people are
very weird.”
Robin tittered at
his expression; he was a small bit pale so the blushing was especially evident
on his cheeks! “Well maybe not skate boarding per say,” Robin stated, slowly
swaying back on forth on the balls of her feet, “but I do ride.” What do they
call them…? “Like animals, horses, bears, birds. “ You name it and I’ve
probably done it, but never a skateboard. I don’t own one actually.”
She was very
serious about that.
“But I’d love to
learn one day, maybe learn how to snowboard too, it snows [a lot] where I live.”
he may have been bragging or inflating everything he’d done, or could do. he may have been exaggerating…pretty much everything. and if any of the other members of HOMRA could hear what he was saying? oh, man, they’d have a riot with all of the laughter that would ensue.
good thing it was just him, the girl, and his board (which he’d admittedly been using to show off in front of her). with the calmest of shrugs, he pretended to consider the question carefully, but proceeded to respond just a moment later. ❝oh, you know, one or two here and there. i’m pretty good at takin’ care of ‘em.❞
IF he was, chances were she would never have found out, after
all she was a to-be ranger and he did not seem the type to be a trainer. On the
other hand, perhaps he was, and she was mischaracterizing Misaki.
Still, she
tittered at his actions, at the way he jokingly pondered her question, before
answering. “I would’ve thought all those tricks would’ve been pretty dangerous
to your boards, Monsieur.” Robin
added before giving yet another titter. He was entertaining, that was for sure.
“But call me impressed, back home all the other riders don’t actually [use] their skateboards.”
NATURALLY, his tales of skateboarding enthralled her. How much
air could he catch? How many flips could he pull off in one trick, what was the
fastest speed Misaki could pull off if he was really trying as opposed to
casual?
Anything having
to do with speed of flying caught her attention after all, just like her small
Kalosian accent seemed to catch the attention of others. “So, how many skateboards
have you gone through so far?”
